Methods for detection of pathogenic aeromonas hydrophila
1 Scope
This standard specifies the methods for detection of pathogenic aeromonas hydrophila.
This standard is applicable to the isolation and identification of pathogenic aeromonas hydrophila in susceptible animals, such as sick fish, and water samples, and may also be used to identify strains delivered for inspection.
2 Procedures for detection of pathogenic aeromonas hydrophila

2.1 Isolation of aeromonas hydrophila
2.1.1 Preparation

2.1.2 Sample to be detected
Samples to be detected may include epidemic materials, water samples and strains delivered for inspection. The epidemic materials may be uncontaminated epidemic materials such as kidney, liver and spleen of susceptible animals which are taken aseptically, or contaminated epidemic materials such as feces or diseased skin. If the samples are strains, they shall be inoculated into routine broth (see Annex A, A1), cultured at 28℃ for 24 h, and then inoculated into routine agar plate (see Annex A, A2) by means of streak inoculation to form a single colony for identification.
