1 Scope
This document gives the chemical name, molecular formula, relative molecular mass and structural formula of taurine, and specifies the technical specifications of taurine as a feed additive.
The standard describes the technical requirements, sampling, inspection rules, labeling, packaging, transportation, storage and shelf life, and describes the test methods.
This document is applicable to the production of products with ethylene oxide or 2-aminoethanol as the main raw materials, after chemical synthesis, with a small amount or no anti-caking agent added.
The feed additive taurine is obtained.

5 Technical Requirements
5.1 Appearance and properties
It should be white crystals or crystalline powder, odorless.
5.2 Identification
The product is identified using both of the following methods: a) Thin-layer
chromatography: The position and color of the main spot of the sample solution should be consistent with the main spot of the taurine standard solution; b) Infrared spectroscopy: The infrared spectral characteristics of the sample should be consistent with the infrared spectrum of the taurine standard.
5.3 Physical and chemical indicators
Should comply with the requirements of Table 1.
