GB 29539-2025 Minimum allowable values of energy efficiency and energy efficiency grades for household and similar range hoods and ventilating fans
1 Scope
This document specifies the grades of energy efficiency. minimum allowable values, test methods and standard implementation for the household and similar range hoods, electric ventilating fans, and multifunctional appliances with ventilating function.
This document is applicable to:
a) Air-extraction range hoods installed on the upper part of household cooking stoves, stoves or similar appliances, with a rated voltage not more than 250 V;
b) Ventilating fans driven by electric motors, with single-phase rated voltage not more than 250 V, rated ventilating input power not more than 500 W, impeller diameter not more than 500 mm, as well as multifunctional appliances with ventilating function.
This document is not applicable to:
a) Cooking fume suction and extraction device of a downdraft system;
b) Commercial range hoods, and other commercial cooking fume extractors;
c) Ventilating fans designed exclusively for industrial purposes;
d) Ventilating fans intended for use under special conditions, such as where corrosive, flammable and explosive gases, dust, steam or gas are present;
e) Ventilating fans for refrigeration equipment or air conditioners and air-to-air energy recovery devices;
f) Ventilating fans embedded in appliances (such as stoves and microwave cooking appliances);
g) Marine ventilating fans;
h) Type C ventilating fans, two-way outlet ventilating fans, and Types B and D ventilating fans with a maximum static pressure of less than 25 Pa;
i) Ventilating fans with filter screens and a fresh air PM2.5 filtration efficiency greater than 90% tested according to GB/T 34012-2017.
Note: The definitions of types A, B, C, D ventilating fans and the like are quoted from GB/T 14806-2017.

standby mode
continuous mode for any product, in which a range hood or ventilating fan provides one or more of the following user-oriented functions or protection functions when connected to the main power:
—— other modes (including main function on or off) may be triggered by triggering remote switches (including non-contract mode for the appliance), internal sensors and timers;
—— continuous function: information or status display including clock;
—— continuous function: sensor-based function.
