CQC16-491283-2022 Certification rules for horns of motor vehicles
1 Application scope
This Rules are applicable to electric horns and air horns for motor vehicles of Categories M, N and L (hereinafter referred to as horns). Reference may be made to it for horns for other motor vehicles.
Any adjustment to the application scope caused by any change(s) in laws and regulations, related product standards, technologies, industrial polices and other factors shall be subject to the announcement issued by China Quality Certification Center (CQC).
2 Certification mode
The certification mode for horns of motor vehicles is type test + initial factory inspection + post-certification supervision
The basic certification steps include:
a application for certification
b product type test
c initial factory inspection
d assessment and approval of certification results
e post-certification supervision
Initial factory inspection is carried out in accordance with the requirements applied to conformity of production (CoP) inspection. According to the different organization and production modes and characteristics of products, differentiated CoP inspection and post-certification supervision may be adopted in specific implementation.
3 Application for certification
3.1 Division of certification unit
In principle, horns of motor vehicles produced by the same producer (manufacturer) and the same production enterprise (workplace) without significant differences in the following aspects are regarded as one certification unit:
(1) working principle and category;
(2) shape of the assembly and number of sound transmission units;
(3) shape and size of the diaphragm;
(4) shape or type of the sound outlet;
(5) rated frequency of sound;
(6) rated voltage/rated air pressure.
The applicant shall file the application for certification according to the unit division principle. A unit may include products of multiple models. The same model refers to the products that have no impact on the standard compliance in design.
