0 Introduction
This Rule is prepared basing on safety risk and certification risk in circuit switch and electric equipment for protection or connection (electric accessories) and it specifies basic principles and requirements for circuit switch and electric equipment for protection or connection (electric accessories) in implementation of compulsory product certification.
This Rule is used jointly with general applicable rules issued by CNCA, like "Implementation Rules for Compulsory Product Certification - Classification Management of Manufacturers, Certification Mode Selection and Determination", "Implementation Rules for Compulsory Product Certification - Application of Manufacturer Inspection Resources and Other Certification Results", "Implementation Rules for Compulsory Product Certification - General Requirements for Factory Inspection".
The certification body shall, in accordance with the requirements of general applicable rules and this Rule, formulate certification implementation rules which shall also be implemented jointly with general applicable rules and this Rule.
Manufacturers shall ensure that their certified products always meet the requirements of certification and applicable standards.
1 Application Scope
This Rule is applicable to circuit switch and electric equipment for protection or connection (electric accessories), including: cord sets, plug and socket-outlets (for household and similar uses or industrial purpose), switches for household and similar fixed-electrical installations, appliance coupler (for household and similar uses or industrial purpose), enclosures for electrical accessories for household and similar fixed electrical installations, thermal links, cartridge fuse-links of miniature fuses.
The adjustment of application scope caused by factors such as laws & regulations, relevant product standards, technology and industrial policies shall be subject to the Announcement issued by the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the Republic of China (CNCA).
