This document specifies the types, basic parameters and technical requirements of electric single girder cranes, describes the corresponding test methods, and stipulates the inspection rules as well as marking, packaging, transportation and storage.
This document is applicable to the manufacture of general-purpose electric single girder cranes with electric hoists as the hoisting mechanism that operate in general environment.
This document is not applicable to electric single girder cranes operating in environment with explosive, nuclear radiation or corrosive gas.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 6974.1 and GB/T 6974.5 apply.
4 Types and basic parameters
4.1 Types
4.1.1 Electric single girder cranes (hereinafter referred to as "cranes") are classified by the position and travelling mode of hoisting mechanism as follows:
a) standard headroom electric hoist crane with trolley, with the typical schematic diagram shown in Figure 1;
b) low headroom electric hoist crane with trolley, with the typical schematic diagram shown in Figure 2;
c) crane with an electric hoist installed on cantilevered trolley, with the typical schematic diagram shown in Figure 3.
