1 Scope
This document specifies the classification and basic component, general, materials, requirements of building hardware for windows and doors, and describes the corresponding test methods.
This document is applicable to the manufacture and inspection of commonly used hardware for doors and windows in civil buildings.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 5823 and the following apply.

basic component
minimum hardware component required to meet the functional requirements of doors and windows
3.2
operating part
device that drives the door and window espagnolette gear or directly drives the door leaves and window sashes to open and close them
3.2.1
handle for espagnolette gear
operating parts for opening and closing door leaves and window sashes by driving espagnolette gear and multipoint locking gear through manual operation
3.2.2
casement fastener handle
operating part that directly realizes the window opening, closing and locking functions through manual operation
3.2.3
lever handles and knob furniture
a set of combined operating parts installed on both sides of the door leaf to drive the espagnolette gear and multipoint locking gear to realize the opening and closing of the door leaf
3.2.4
single point locking gear
operating part that controls the single-position locking of sliding doors and windows
