3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 2035 and the following apply.
3.1
reworked plastics
thermoplastic prepared from trimmings or rejected mouldings that has been reprocessed in a fabricator's plant after having been processed previously in that plant by moulding, extrusion, etc.
Note: In many specifications the use of reworked material is limited to clean plastic that meets the requirements specified for the virgin material and yields a product essentially equal in quality to one made from only virgin material.
3.2
recycled plastics
thermoplastic plastics products prepared by recycling discarded plastics products.
Note: Recycled plastics may or may not be reformulated by the addition of fillers, plasticizers, stabilizers, pigments, etc.
3.3
repeatable used plastics
plastics products that can be reused multiple times after molding and whose performance meets the requirements of relevant provisions
3.4
recyclable plastics
plastics products that can be recycled and reused after being discarded
3.5
nonrecoverable plastics
plastic products that are allowed to be recycled or reused by law
3.6
food contact plastics
plastics products that, under normal conditions of use, are in contact or expected to come into contact with food or food additives (hereinafter referred to as food), or whose components may migrate into food
Note: The term includes plastic packaging materials, containers, tools and equipment used for food during its production, processing, packaging, transport, storage, sale, and use, as well as food utensils, containers, production pipelines, conveyor belts, packaging materials, etc.
3.7
medical plastics
plastics products intended for use in vitro medical applications or implanted in the body
4 Symbols and abbreviated terms
The symbols and abbreviated terms used in this document shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 1844 (all parts). For symbols or abbreviated terms not included herein, those specified in other national or international standards may be used. According to the requirements on polymer marking “REC” specified in GB/T 1844.1, when a product containing two or more components is regarded as a single recyclate, similar requirements shall apply to that product.
