The corresponding chapter in GB 4706.1-1998 will be replaced by the following:
This part is applicable to the safety of household stationary cooking ranges, hobs, ovens and similar appliances. For the single-phase appliances between phase line and neutral line, the rated voltage shall not exceed 250V; for other appliances, the rated voltage shall not exceed 480V.
Note 1: The examples of the appliances covered by the scope of this part include:
- Stationary grill;
- Stationary griddle;
- Pyrolytic self-cleaning oven;
- Induction hob;
- Steam oven;
- The electric part of non-electric appliance;
Practically, this part is involved in the common danger from the appliances encountered by all people in the house and around the house.
Generally this part doesn't consider:
- Use of appliances by unattended infants or the disabled.
- Infants play with the appliances.
Note 2: Pay attention to the following cases:
- For the appliances intended to use on cars, ships or aircrafts, some additional requirements may be required;
- For the appliances intended to use in tropical countries, some special requirements may be required;
In many countries, the additional requirements are provided by national hygiene and health care department, labor protection department, national water supply department and similar departments.
Note 3: This part is not applicable to:
- The appliances intended to use in special environments with frequent occurrence of corrosive or explosive gases (such as dust, steam or gas).
