General rules for the sampling and sample preparation of minerals in bulk - Determination of moisture content - Heat drying method
1 Scope
This standard is applicable to the determination of moisture content of ores described in GB 2007.1, but not applicable to some easily oxidized sulfide ores.
2 Normative references
GB 2007.1 General rules for the sampling and sample preparation of minerals in bulk-Sampling by manual method

3 Apparatus
3.1 Drying tray: a stainless metal tray with smooth and clean surface, which can accommodate a specified number of specimens with layer thickness not exceeding 31.5 mm
3.2 Drying oven: it is provided with a temperature control device which makes the temperature error less than ±5℃, and with a blower device that may make the airflow in the drying oven without blowing away the specimen.
3.3 Balance: with a maximum weighing amount of 3,000 g and a sensitivity of 0.1 g.
4 Samples
Sampling and sample preparation according to relevant standards. For samples that are too wet or sticky to sieve, break and shrink, the samples may be pre-dried until no difficulty occurs in sample preparation (see Annex A). The minimum mass of the required moisture specimen is shown in Table 1.
