GB/T 24782-2009 Decision method of persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic substances, and very persistent and very bioaccumulative substances
1 Scope
This standard specifies the criteria for decision of persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic substances, and very persistent and very bioaccumulative substances.
Clauses 3 and 4 of this standard apply only to organometallic compounds.
2 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the followingterms and definitions apply.
2.1
PBT or vPvB substance
substances containing ingredients with persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic characteristics, or very persistent and very bioaccumulative characteristics, and the content of such ingredients is 80% or more
2.2
substance containing maximum X% (or X% to Y%) PBTs or vPvBs
substances containing one or more ingredients or impurities with persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic characteristics or very persistent and very bioaccumulative characteristics, with a single ingredient or impurity content greater than or equal to 0.1% (but less than 80%)The content can be the maximum content (X%) or the content range (X% to Y%), depending on the situation
2.3
substance forming PBTs or vPvBs
substances containing ingredients or impurities that can be degraded or transformed into a substance with persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic characteristics or with very persistent and very bioaccumulative characteristics, and the forming transformation or degradation products individually containing more than 0.1% (the amount of the initial substance). The mass fraction of degradation or transformation products can be appropriately expressed as the content of impurities or ingredients that with persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic characteristics or are very persistent and very bioaccumulative characteristics
3 Decision of persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic substances
Substances that meet the requirements of 3.1.3.2 and 3.3 are persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic substances.
3.1 Persistence
A substance meets the criteria for persistence when it meets any of the following:
a) The half-life in seawater is longer than 60d;
b) The half-life in fresh water or river water is longer than 40d;
c) The half-life in marine sediments is longer than 180d;
d) The half-life in fresh water or river water sediments is longer than 120d;
e) The half-life in soil is longer than 120d.
